Day 1 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Attraction places: Ulaanbaatar city is the capital and the biggest urban area of the whole country where almost half of the Mongolian population lives. Surrounded by 4 holy mountains, Ulaanbaatar is Mongolian economic, cultural and political center and has a number of tourist attractions and hosts the most varied types of entertainment.  Among the world’s capital cities, Ulaanbaatar is notable as the capital city located at the highest altitude with the coldest climatic conditions.

Day 2 Take a tour to Terelj National park. Drive to Baga Gazriin chuluu mountains

Attraction places: Terelj National Park is the most popular destination and the third biggest protected area in Mongolia, including Chingis khan equestrian statue. Visitors can take leisurely strolls on meadows carpeted with edelweiss and a dazzling variety of other wild flowers, view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of pine covered mountains and wander along the wooded banks of a mountain stream. 

Baga gazriin chuluu is extra-ordinary rocky mountain range in the middle of gobi, full of wonders and lots of things to do. 240 km away from Ulaanbaatar, Baga gazriin chuluu is located in Dundgovi province.  Baga Gazriin Chuluu, is a 15km long and 10 km wide stone massif, is located 30 km to the south east of Adaatsag sum. The highest point is Tahilgat Mountain /1768 m/ in the Northwest part of the stone massif. Over 20 kinds of medical herbs and many species of animals such as wild sheep, ibex and marmot exist here, Surtiin am is one of many beautiful places in Baga gazriin stone massif. 

Activities: Visit Turtle rock, extraordinary rock formation, Chingis khan equestrian.  Drive 3-4 hours through paved and dirt roads. Observe stunning granite rocky formations eroded by the violent elements of this area. Explore Choir monastery ruins, hike through mountain. Make a visit to Bolor cave for an eye treatment spa.

Day 3 Visit to Tsagaan Suvarga - Wonder of Gobi

Attraction places: Between rock desert and semi-arid steppes, the white stupa, Tsagaan Suvarga is located. For centuries, this 30-metres (98,43 feet) high, abrupt, stupa-shaped mountain, is honored by the Mongolians. The traveler will be surprised by the sumptuous lunar landscapes that evoke the end of the world, and by the many fossils. This area was totally covered by the sea a few million years ago. 

Activities: Take a hike through the White stupa. Great chance to snap photos.

Day 4 Explore Yol Valley. Visit the nomadic family

Attraction places: Eagle Valley ( Yolyn Am ) is located on the eastern side of Gurvan Saikhan mountain and surrounded by sheer rock walls rising over 2600m above sea level. This picturesque valley is an amazing natural creation where snow and ice exist even in hot, which was originally established to conserve the birdlife in the region. The breathtaking, dramatic scenery makes it one of the most beautiful places in Mongolia. There is a small museum of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. The museum displays the geographical condition, flora, fauna, minerals and some dinosaur fossils. 

Activities: Natural Museum of Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park. Hiking to glacier and photographing in Yoliin Am, some wildlife viewing. Visit a nomadic family to have a real experience of nomadic lifestyles.

Day 5 Visit Khongor sand dunes. Chance to ride on Mongolian two humped Camel

Attraction places:  Khongor Sand Dune (Khongoryn Els) is the largest and most spectacular sand dune in Mongolia, which reaches a height of 400 meters, 20 km wide and 100 km long. The Sand dune is at the northwest corner of the range. The views of the desert from the top are wonderful. Alongside the sand dunes is an oasis through the Khongor river flows. The sand dune is called Singing Dunes by local people because the tons of sand shifting in the wind create a sound like a distant aircraft. This dramatic scenery features many colors of nature as a white sand dune, the light green grass, red-blue mountains, and the eternal blue sky.

Activities: Visit the Singing Dunes that is the highest sand dune. Photographing and climbing up to the dunes.  Camel ride trial, free hiking and photographing. You will be riding on camels for 1 hour to explore the Khongor sand dunes area.

Day 6 Drive to Bayanzag. Land of Dinosaurs

Attraction places: Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs) is also known as the “Cemetery of Dinosaurs” is a picturesque sexual forest that is world-famous for dinosaur remains. Dinosaur fossilized eggs and several types of dinosaur bones were found in Bayanzag's first time in the world by American scientist Roy Chapman in 1922. 

The cliff of Bayanzag looks pretty orange-like “Flame” when the sunsets, therefore people named this place “Flaming Cliff”.

Activity: Free walk & photograph in flaming cliffs and saxaul forest. If you want, you can look for dinosaur eggs and fossils.

Day 7 Visit to Ongi Monastery Ruins

Attraction places: On the way to reach the Ongi monastery you will pass through the endless steppe of Ongi that would make you feel great just by staring. 

Ongi Temple which was one of the biggest monasteries of Mongolia in the 18th century. The temple was established on both the right and left bank of Gobi’s biggest and longest river – Ongi. Then it was destroyed in communist time. There is a small ger museum where you can see very interesting remains of the ancient monastery. Wonderful evening view of the ruin is perfect for good shots!

Activities: Visit to a rebuilt main temple and a small ger museum which displays a leader monk’s used items. Hike to a type of ancient stupa ruin and take some good photos.

Day 8 Drive to Karakorum and Erdenezuu monastery

Attraction places: The Karakorum was the capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Located on the open steppe on the right bank of the Orkhon River in central Mongolia, Kharkhorin, and Erdene Zuu monastery  are part of the upper part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape.

The Karakorum was founded in 1220 by Genghis Khan as a military center. The name means black stones or black walls.

Erdene Zuu monastery monastery was established in 1586 and was protected by Mongolian government since 1944. The monastery has 108 stupas, an active temple and a worthy monastery museum which displays the Buddhist cultural items between 16-18th century mostly.     

Activities: Take photos on the way to Erdene Zuu monastery. its famous museum. Visit to funny Penis Rock, Great Kings’ monument and Turtle Rock where you may see the panoramic view of Karakorum and Erdene Zuu monastery. - Hiking to the Orkhon River

Day 9 Relaxing day at Tsenkher Hot Spring

Attraction places: This is a hot spring that ranks 2nd hottest in Mongolia. Located at Tsenher Sum of Arkhangai Province, it is a place of astounding beauty surrounded by forest and mountains. The best feature of this particular hot spring is its potent medicinal properties on one’s body. With temperatures ranging from 65-90 degrees Celsius, the water can help reduce stress, lowers the chance to get diabetes, as well as boosts the digestive system along with a variety of other uses. Unwind and relax as you see fit.

Activities: You can have a bath in the spring water. Hiking in the forest and admiring the pretty flowers. Read the book outside. Play games.

Day 10 Drive to Ugii Lake. Visit the Khushuu Taidam – Turkic monuments.

Attraction places: Khushuu Taidam is on the way to Ugii lake from the Tsenkher hot spring. These monuments were built for the memorial of the ancient Turkic state between VI-VIII centuries. Ramsar convention registered Ugii lake is rich with fish and wetland birds. Some birds that can be observed in this place are Reddish Duck, Relict Gull, Swan Goose, White-naped Crane and many more. 

Activity: Visit the Khushuu Taidam – Turkic monuments. Enjoy the lake by walking, swimming and sunbathing. Take boating (optional). Watching the wetland birds.

Day 11 Drive to Hustai National park. Visit a small Takhi, the wild horse’s museum.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Attraction places: Hustai National Park is a place; you can observe Takhi horses or best known Prejwalski’s horses. Scholars reintroduced the Takhi horse here in 1992. Covering landscapes of the park are concerned with the steppe & forest-steppe zone.  The area itself is very peaceful and beautiful, so there are a lot of opportunities to see wildlife.

Activity: Visit a small Takhi, the wild horse’s museum. Watch a 15 minutes documentary film. See the Takhi horse and other wildlife. Hike around for a little while and take some good shots.

Day 12 Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Take a city tour.

Attraction places:  Last day of the tour will start as driving to Ulaanbaatar city.  Today is your chance to do some shopping for souvenirs and cashmere in Ulaanbaatar. Later in the evening, you will attend a live Mongolian traditional music and dance performance. A perfect ending for a perfect journey. 

Activities: Cashmere shopping in most famous factory stores. Tumen ekh folklore concert.

We offer 2 different type of tour arrangements for our customers.

Standard Arrangement

Standard arrangement tour is the perfect combination of luxury and a budget tour. Choose from the best tours around Mongolia with a reasonable price. 

You will be staying in a tourist ger camp (traditional dwelling) shared between 2 to 4 people, with currency, modern shower and toilet facilities and other useful services in the countryside. All accommodation offered is personally checked by our staff to ensure standards.

We will use the highest level, latest model, air-conditioned private vans or 4WD vehicles for the maximum comfort on your touring days. A day's drive in the countryside will be approximately 200-250km.

 

Budget Arrangement

Budget arrangement tour means traveling for the lowest cost , while still having a certain level of comfort, without missing anything.  

Visiting and  staying with nomadic families which means everyone staying in one ger with 4-6 bed, making your own food with the help of your guide, and camping in beautiful spots are included in the budget arrangement. Just a similar way of bed and breakfast.

We will use the safest, air-conditioned private vans or Russian UAZ vans on your touring days. A day's drive in the countryside will be approximately 250-350km.
